Silent Aution
The South Island Straight Liners Racing Association
seeks your support in our SILENT AUCTION, to be
held December 10, 2011 at the Chequered Flag
Restaurant (2345 Millstream Road, Langford BC).
Viewing starts at 7:00 pm with the SILENT AUCTION
scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm.
S.I.S.L.R.A. was formed back in 1980. A small
handful of car and hot rod enthusiasts had a desire
to test their cars. They held their meetings in a
small area above a local body shop.
The club operates on a very basic premise, to
promote drag racing in a safe and controlled
environment. We strive to introduce the sport to
students and educate them about keeping it off the
streets through our Trophy Student Class which
runs amongst our four regular classes at Western
Speedway. Our long-term goal is to secure a longer,
dedicated facility.
We are a non-profit organization.
Our goal for this auction is to raise funds to help
offset the increasing costs of our association. The
proceeds will be allocated for maintaining the drag
strip, updating equipment and supplies needed to
successfully and safely run the races, which are all
operated by volunteers.
We are looking for donations to be auctioned.
Anything would be greatly appreciated, such as gift
certificates or merchandise. In return we encourage
our members to patronize the participating business
throughout the year. We also will be promoting the
companies who have contributed items in the
announcements throughout the evening. All auction
items and sponsors will be posted on the club’s
official web site at www.SISLRA.ca.
We also would enjoy having you attend this fun event.

GRUDGE MATCH CLASS NEW FOR 2011
The S.I.S.L.R.A. (Drag Race Victoria) now offers a Grudge Match Class where any street legal vehicle can come to our track and race as many grudge matches as we can fit between our regular classes at the low price of $20.00 per driver. This is old school drag racing Grudge racers can choose to race their buddies or race random racers and compete for trophies for both the fastest car of the day (E.T.) and the driver with the best reaction time of the day. This gives those who want to see what their car can do, a safe place to do so, all the rightful bragging rights and will encourage even more drivers to come to our track and keep racing off the streets. We are very excited to be able to put this into place in addition to the racing we have been offering for years.
Even if you dont have something to prove, come and see what your vehicle can do and what it's like to race. Imports, Pick-ups, SUV's, Performance Vehicles old and new... anything goes.

Important Notice to all Members
It has been stated that "mufflers are required on all vehicles" that raceat Western Speedway. To correct that statement, the actual rule is that your ride cannot be louder then 95 decibels, thus mufflers are not required if your ride registers under 95 decibel reading.
As stated on the Western Speedway website by the Track Promoters; Attention All Racers!! For the 2020 Season All Cars All Classes will have to abide by the 95 Decibel Noise Level as a Western Speedway Rule! This means that everyone should look at putting enough muffler on your cars to insure you are at or below this level. (read more)

-A $600 momentary sponsorship gives your business exclusive advertising for one full race.
-A $600 momentary sponsorship gives your business exclusive advertising for a half of one race.
Advertising includes;
-Your business will be provided with a 4x8 area on the burnout wall in which your business provide for further advertising for this season.
-Your business name and logo will be printed on the club site for the season.
-Your business name will appear on all time slips on your sponsored race day.
-Your business will be announced over are PA system on your sponsored race day.

Membership has its rewards for both racers and non-racers; discounts on race day entry fees, voting rights at meetings, receive club emails of events & updates, participation in the points class standings for drivers, discounts at Lordco, etc... Help suport our club and ensure we are racing for years to come.
Individual Membership fees are $30.00 and family Memberships are $60.00 (includes two adults and two children under 16) and run from April 1st to September 31st annually.
Memberships can be purchased at monthly meetings, on race day, or by contacting the Membership Director.
